Find a Convenient In-Person Testing Site

Candidates can identify the most convenient in-person proctored testing site offered by the National College Testing Association by visiting their website

An alternate and possibly more convenient option may be to take the exam at a local college or university Most institutions of higher learning offer proctored testing services for online exams taking by community members. Please check their website for more information.

*Proctor fees are the responsibility of the candidate and are not covered in the cost of the PSC program.

Once you identify a convenient in-person proctored testing site, contact the site to schedule your exam. Be sure to tell the testing site staff that your program is from the Ohio State University and make sure the site administers "web-based testing."  It might be helpful to print this description of the PSC program and exam to share with the testing site.

Send an email with this information to the PSC program at aging@osu.edu. Be sure to include the date, time, location, contact person, and contact email address.

The PSC program will create your exam and send the testing site the information they need to proctor your exam.  

Once the testing site confirms receipt of instructions, the PSC program will send you additional information.

Candidates are responsible for any applicable testing site fees, which typically range from $25-$50 for a two-hour session. This fee is paid directly to the testing center and is separate from the examination fee paid to the PSC program.

What to Expect on Exam Day at a Proctored Testing Site

When you arrive, the proctor will ask to see a government-issued photo ID. The name on your ID must match the name on your AASC account. 

You will be instructed to turn off your cell phone and any other electronic devices and stow them with your personal belongings in the provided secure location. These items may not be reaccessed until you have completed and submitted the exam for grading.  If a prohibited device is found after the exam has begun, the test taker will forfeit the opportunity to complete the exam and receive a failure. 

  1. You will be allowed to visit the restroom and attend to any pending responsibilities before beginning the exam.  Leaving the exam computer during the exam is discouraged unless necessary. 

  2. To begin the exam, you will log in to your account at http://aasc.osu.edu.  Be sure to take your Username and Password to the exam. Proctors do not have access to your account. 

  3. Once logged in, you will click on "Your Account" and then "Online Exam" in the top blue navigation bar.  Note:  Once you follow the online exam link, you will not access your PSC modules or account information. 

  4. You will have two hours to complete and review the exam. There are a total of 80 questions. A minimum score of 80% is required to be successful.

You will receive your preliminary score after you submit your exam. The final results are pending confirmation by the PSC committee. You may expect this confirmation within 5-7 business days after your exam.
